Captain America and the Avengers (キャプテンアメリカアンドジアベンジャーズ Kyaputen Amerika ando ji Abenjāzu?) is an arcade game developed and released by Data East in 1991. It features the Marvel Comics characters The Avengers in a side-scrolling brawling and shooting adventure to defeat the evil Red Skull. The game received ports for the Mega Drive, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy and Game Gear. A different version was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Crisis Force (クライシスフォース) is a vertical-scrolling shooting game released by Konami exclusively in Japan for the Family Computer on August 27, 1991. As Konami's final shooting game for the Famicom, the game was developed to push the hardware's specifications to its limits and utilized Konami's custom VRC4 chip (previously used for the Famicom version of Gradius II) to allow for four-way scrolling and large bosses. However because of the game's late release during the Famicom's lifespan, a year after the launch of its successor the Super Famicom, Crisis Force did not achieve the popularity that Konami expected. The player controls one of two fighter ships piloted by Asuka and Maya, a pair of twin siblings descended from the ancient civilizations of Mu, who must save the world from a breed of artificial monsters from the lost civilization of Atlantis. The main feature of the game system is the player's ability to transform its ship in one of three different forms, each with its unique attack method.

Double Dribble, known in Japan as Exciting Basket (エキサイティング バスケット Ekisaitingu Basuketto?), was the second basketball arcade game developed and released in 1986 by Konami. It was the second basketball arcade game by Konami, following Super Basketball. Much of the game's popularity came from its animation sequences showing basketball players performing slam dunks, as well as The Star-Spangled Banner theme during attract mode, which was the first arcade game to feature the national anthem. These were uncommon in video games at the time of Double Dribble's release. While successful in the arcades, the game became and remained popular and remembered when it was ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987. Double Dribble was followed by a sequel titled Double Dribble: The Playoff Edition, which was released in 1994 for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. A remake titled Double Dribble Fastbreak was released for iOS in 2010, being based mostly on the NES version; however, the animation sequences were ripped from the arcade version.

Dr. Mario (ドクターマリオ, Dokutā Mario?) (Often stylized as D℞. Mario) is a 1990 Mario arcade-style action puzzle video game designed by Gunpei Yokoi and produced by Takahiro Harada. Nintendo developed and published the game for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy consoles. The game's soundtrack was composed by Hirokazu Tanaka. The game focuses on the player character Mario, who assumes the role of a doctor and is tasked with eradicating deadly viruses. In this falling block puzzle game, the player's objective is to destroy the viruses populating the on-screen playing field by using colored capsules that are dropped into the field. The player manipulates the capsules as they fall so that they are aligned with viruses of matching colors, which removes them from play. The player progresses through the game by eliminating all the viruses on the screen in each level. Dr. Mario received positive reception, appearing on several "Best Nintendo Games of All Time" lists. The game was either ported, remade, or has had a sequel on every Nintendo home console since the NES as well as most portable consoles, including a re-release in 2004 on the Game Boy Advance as part of the Classic NES Series. Modified versions of Dr. Mario were included as minigames in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames! and Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day!.

Dragon Scroll (ドラゴンスクロール 甦りし魔竜, lit. "Magic Dragon Scroll Dragon Reborn") is a 1987 video game that was released exclusively in Japan for the Family Computer. The game is non-linear and operates almost like a sandbox game. Many video games helped to influence this video game, including The Legend of Zelda. A large video game world helps to define the complexity of the gameplay. However, most puzzles are impossible for non-Japanese speakers to solve, but a fan-made translation patch has been made available by King Mike Translations in 2008.
